The process of like-minded people joining together to foster needed change is time tested and proven to work. We the People, the 80% of America who think alike, need to let our voices be heard. Currently we have a lot of influencers talking… network shows, pod casts, posts, comments, tweets, likes and the like. It’s a lot of talk with little action. Nothing getting resolved. Very unproductive. Imagine if we, as an organization, could take an issue thru a court like proceeding. People vs Climate Change, People vs Universal Healthcare, People vs Immigration. We could hear from both sides, the pro and con concerns, discuss the facts among ourselves and then vote and have a verdict. A starting place for open discussion on solutions. A place to lay options and costs and benefits on the table for all to analyze. A place to take the best, by member vote, and produce working solutions in weeks, not years or decades. The questions, sorted into topics. Members can select the hot topic of the day. You can have it emailed or sign-in anytime. Each question will be given supporting pros and cons from information we have. We will ask outside media to offer written info or videos on the subject that membership can view and agree or disagree. You can vote anytime and you can change your vote anytime, but each member only gets one vote. Ideally, with a good response from outside sources, you will have sufficient evidence to feel comfortable with your vote. Tabulation will be live on line. Once activity slows, we will call a winner and then move to the solution phase. Solutions from experts will be solicited and we welcome our media partners to offer discussion and solutions. Selection by members will be multiple choice. Pick your top five out of 50. Winning solution then go on the block again, membership picks their top five out of 20 … until we have a top five. Discussion can continue or all five could be selected. Winner solutions could then go to free enterprise to engage with or needed legislation could be presented to our elected officials. We can make electing officials just as easy. Ever scratch your head hearing candidates screaming to get money out of politics and then come crying to you for money? Stop feeding the beast. Selecting quality representatives for local, state and national government can take the same path. Rather than relying on advertising and hype, members can offer candidates the option to share their resume. Anyone wishing to run for office can complete an application stating their work history, accomplishments, memberships, references, education, hobbies, family life etc. Common questions could be answered, and a brief one-page bio could be added as to why they should earn your vote. Nothing derogatory would be allowed. A one paragraph response could be added to misinformation created by the opponent, each time it happens. All history, qualifications and answers would be fact checked. This is a concept that can help us find our feet as a country. Help us make it happen by getting involved.
